Summer trout season, June 16th to July 16th, features warmer weather and warmer water temperatures, bringing on the Stonefly, Mayfly, Caddis and Diptera hatches.
The rich aquatic food and highly concentrated fish density of the flyfishing only section will challenge and reward the novice or expert angler. The Babine River’s flyfishing only section is considered within the top five wild river rainbow fisheries of British Columbia.
Dry-fly casting to rising and feeding trout is typical to this area, but other techniques are deadly as well, such as wetfly casting and nymphing. Slow sections of river, Nilkitkwa Lake weed beds and some wading offer the angler enough options for days of pursuit.
We have downsized our trout lodge to accommodate four guests, fully guided, plus we will have two housekeeping cabins for unguided guests.
